When you buy a macbook, macbook pro, or macbook air, you should run the battery calibration routine during the mac's first day of use. of course, many of us end up enjoying our new macs so much we forget all about this necessary step.. Unless that battery comes with specific instructions for calibration, that method is placing a tremendous amount of stress and wear on the battery unnecessarily. it is far, far from ideal to allow a lithium cell(s) to go that low, and even worse to allow it to remain that low for an extended period..
